Don`t Diet in 2020

This is the time of year some may choose to focus on our bodies and the fuel we put into our bodies. The dreaded diet word comes up, let me assure you diets always die because we punish our bodies which creates more trauma physically for your body and emotional for yourself.
The reason why you may be unfit and choosing to eat an unhealthy meal can be because of
 
  1. Core imprinting (eat or your dinner or there is no desert
  2. If you are good, I will buy you a treat (rewards)
  3. Feeling sad using food as self-medication
  4. Justifying behaviours
  5. Advertising
  6. Thirsty not hungry
  7. Conditioning it is 12pm so it is time to eat
  8. Time

If you have started a diet time and time again have you had success, or did you go right back to the start?
What would it have looked like if for 1 month you focused on just one health improvement at a time, like increasing the amount of water you drink? (filtered water with a slice of lime helps absorption)
Did you know our bodies are 70% water and dehydration are believed to be among one of the biggest causes of chronic disease known to man?

What if the second month you focused on reducing the amount of processed foods and drinks you consume? Where possible swap for a healthier alternative. Did you notice I said reduce not eliminate? The idea is to stop just one day and don’t increase the reduction until you are super comfortable the time it takes does not matter the commitment does and is what will keep you moving forward not falling of the healthy lifestyle grove.
If this was your focus to transition form diet to a healthy balanced lifestyle where do you think your weight would be 12 months from now?

Routine is the key to commitment not willpower.
If you go to battle with your brain it will overpower you with the subconscious beliefs that helped you to arrive where you don’t want to be.

I am not a personal trainer and I am not a nutritionist, but I can support you to take charge of your subconscious brain that is controlling and sabotaging your efforts to live a healthy life.

A client who had diabetes was avoiding going back to the doctor because she was unable to make the lifestyle changes need to manage her diabetes came to me for assistance and over a period of months working together she learned what was keeping her stuck in the cycle of unhealthy choices. After working together, she started to lose weight and was focused and created new routines and habits for herself which she continues on today. When she went to the doctor the reduced her medication not increased which has given her more focus to continue.
