Public Shaming of Skinny people.

Picture
Public shame of skinny people
How sad is it that healthy bodies are publicly shamed because they are the minority.
Discrimination comes in many different forms.
Today I would like to shed some light on why it seems to be ok for others to publicly shame thin healthy people. Please take the time to consider your words could be very unkind to others.

Have you ever said publicly to a thin person?
Look how skinny you are!
You eat that and look how skinny you are!
Is that all your eating, no wonder you’re so skinny!
I wish I could eat and look like you!
Don’t you eat?
Oh it must be nice to be skinny!
Why do you exercise you don’t need to lose weight!
I could go on with so many more.
These are not compliments so stop pretending they are.
It’s not only the words that are spoken but the tone of voice used with these phrases that is publicly shaming the person.

Imagine if you said look how skinny you are and they said look how fat you are back to you I’m sure you would be discussed of the hide of them to say such a horrible thing. Guess what skinny people feel the same but choose not to public shame you. Publicly it’s ok to complain how fat you are and how your clothes don`t fit but if a thin person says the same wow watch the cannons come flying.

Thin people have the same issues as heavier people, they  find it hard to get clothes to fit, they struggle with weight and body issues and to top it off we are public shamed for their bodies.

Stop and consider maybe that skinny people have health issues which contribute to their body image. I know what you might say. Oh I didn’t mean it like that. Well maybe your choice of words and tone could be more of praise and support not jealously and disgust. “You are looking fit and healthy”

Why

Does it cover your feelings towards yourself?

Does it make you feel better?

Does it make you feel thinner?

Does it empower you?

Does it raise you self-esteem to public shame others?

Does it feel good to degrade and look down upon others for being different to you?

This in the eyes of a skinny healthy fit person.

It is public shame,

Bullying

Degrading

abuse

Jealously & hate

I hope this post will give power to your thoughts.

Hi my name is Deb I am a Transformation & empowerment Coach.
When life is just not what it should be.
I am here to tell you what your feeling is real and it`s not your fault
because you may be following “core imprints” which are not aligning with your values and needs.
Your behaviours and emotions can be been driven by your early imprints hiding in the background sabotaging your conscious efforts to the best version of yourself.
Let`s explore this for a moment, what if you could remove imprints that are not working for you?

I work with people like you who want to get  results and success.
Knowing your core purpose in life can be simple when we go through the discovery of meeting our needs.
Have you seen the story of star fish?
I believe there are billions of people in the world but if I am able to impact just one and you pass on your learnings we have made a difference.
I studied at the Australian Institute for Life Coaches. To see more about me click on the About me tag above.

    You Make a difference
